"Friendly but lacking thoroughness"

About: Abingdon Community Hospital

I went in to the 'out of hours' on Sunday December 3rd after 111 made an appointment for my toddler who was experiencing breathing difficulties. It was very busy but we were seen quickly. The gp was friendly but sadly (and I guess because things were busy) prescribed the wrong dosage of antibiotics for my son who experienced headaches, vomiting and diarrhoea as a result if the incorrect prescription. Ensure the doctor you see is both efficient and thorough!

Dear Anon,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback relating to your recent visit to Abingdon Out of Hours where your toddler was referred by 111 due to breathing difficulties.

I am sorry to hear you that the GP you and your toddler saw prescribed an incorrect dose of antibiotics which resulted in your toddler becoming unwell.

We take all feedback about our services seriously and I would be grateful if you could contact PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 0800 328 7971 to discuss your concerns in more detail.

With best wishes

Sarah Woods

PALS Officer
