"My mothers palliative care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Geriatric Assessment

(as a relative),

When mum was admitted to hospital it was evident how frail she was. Staff on the Emergency Care Ward were quick to assess her needs and as she approached the end of life showed care and compassion to her and the family.

I found their reassurance of comfort measures knowledgeable and reassuring. Although busy they took time to say that they would try and not move mum to another ward and provided a single room in a quiet area.

I will be forever grateful to let me know that she died with people who cared.

Thank you.

Dear sigmarf86,

Firstly I would like to offer my condolensces to you at this time.

Many thanks for taking the time to post your positive feedback in respect to your Mothers care at what must be a very difficult time for you and the family.

The staff will be really pleased to read your nice words and that you found then caring and compassionate.

I will ensure that this posting is fed back to the Senior Charge Nurse and the staff.

Kindest regards

Andy
