I arrived at the unit at 17.15 on Tuesday teatime. I was taken straight through to a treatment room. My injury was assessed promptly and with compassion. I was offered pain relief and had an X-ray. I was shown th result and informed that my fracture required reduction. I was given the option os different methods of pain relief during the procedure. As the fracture was a little complicated, the staff liaised with th JR to confirm that they were happy for the reduction to be done in Abingdon.
I had the reduction, had a slab plaster fitted, had an appointment made for the following day at the Trauma clinic, and I was back home by 19.00.
Fantastic care, compassionate, skilled staff. Excellent, thank you.
