I write concerning the care my wife received at the RSCH from June last year to date.
Having been diagnosed with advanced Ovarian cancer we attended the outpatients clinic, whereupon my wife was immediately admitted. What followed took us through a huge range of departments and wards, and this is what we found over many months: -
• Clinical excellent was the norm – the consultants, surgeons, anaesthetists, registrars and junior doctors were unfailingly brilliant in their approach and ability to communicate.
• The ward staff were caring, patient, kind and highly skilled in every role. One staff nurse, Laura, was a model for everything that could be wished for in a nurse.
• Oncology Outpatients was clearly at maximum capacity, yet was uniformly efficient.
• Our one experience of A&E was outstanding, and we were seen and prioritised with great speed.
• Appointments and timings were very well managed.
As someone who has managed in numerous businesses I must say that I simply do not understand how the excellence we have experienced is achieved and maintained. Whatever it is all the staff are doing please keep it up. You have our eternal thanks.
