I was admitted to the labour ward recently in early labour with my first baby. By this point I had been having contractions for around 19 hours but was previously sent home from triage. Danielle was the midwife looking after us and instantly made us feel at ease explaining everything as we went along.
Danielle was on hand to answer any questions we had and when it came to near the end of her shift she introduced Karen who would be taking over.
Karen was lovely and again made us feel relaxed and informed at all times.
Later that evening Karen was close to finishing her shift so we had Jen take over and she delivered the baby not long after.
The care we received from everyone was fantastic and we could not have asked for more.
Until you are in the situation you cannot fully understand the extent of what the amazing midwives do. Huge thanks to midwives Danielle, Karen and Jen, anaesthetist Chris and Dr Prashant (I think that was his name? ). I could not have done it without them and would be very lucky to be cared for by them again in the future.
"We could not have asked for more."
