"They listened and allowed me time to tell my story"

About: West London NHS Trust

(as a service user),

I was referred by my local GP as I had self harmed due to my PTSD mental health condition after an event that peaked my anxiety. When I arrived at A&E I I handed over my referral letter and was seen by triage nurse very quickly- I explained what my problem was- the nurse contacted the crisis team while I sat next to her.

The crisis team and nurses respond very quickly. The mental health nurse took my story - listened and allowed me time to tell my story and I was not forced to tell it fast - he saw when I got confused and allowed me time to calm down - we agreed on a plan to help reduce my anxiety over the next few days and gave me some meds to help calm down.

Dear Cassiopeiath55

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your experience. I’m so pleased to read that the mental health nurse took the time to listen to you and that you didn’t feel forced to tell your story fast.

I hope the plan that you agreed on helps you in the future.

All the best

Sara
