"The most incompetent hospital ever!"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

What I liked

The oncology department are fabulous - but that is the only department I have praise for.

What could be improved

Communication is a massive issue.....Time taken to treat patients, patient care, how staff talk to relatives - I always though if you wanted to be a nurse you would have to like people and actually care about your patients.

Only go to this hospital if you want to be left in A&E for over 12 hours - then moved to a medical assessmet unit for another 12 hours.......I can't fault the doctors but the nursing staff are something else.

I hope I never reach the age that I have to be looked after in here, as whilst there an elderly patient next to my mother, who couldn't feed herself, had her dinner delivered and then left for 20 minutes next to her, for then the catering staff to come and then clear it away without anyone attempting to feed her.....only my intervention stopped her throwing it in the bin - as she said it was cold.....another nurse eventually came and fed the lady her cold dinner. She absolutely devoured the lot so was obviously hungry. What is going on with the NHS that we cannot get the right staff and enough manpower to care for us when we most need it.

We pay enough in National Insurance to warrant receiving top medical care - both by doctors and nurses...

It has also cost me a fortune in car park costs to see my mum.....was told to come up and pick her medicine up today and when I get there they said "not ready you have to ring first" - communication - tell people - so that little wasted journey cost me about £3.00 in petrol and £2.00 in car park costs!!!! And I have to go back again later today so I can kiss goodbye to another £5.00!!!

Anything else?

This is only my recent feedback from Queens, however, I can honestly say that all my other previous visits have been just as bad or worse!

Buck your ideas up Queens! Will be interesting to see if my feedback reaches the site itself as the note below says it has to meet the "moderation rules" - I wonder if that includes any bad feedback not making it?CommunicationOpening hoursPatient careOncologyDoctorsNursing staffFoodTemperatureCar Park
