I was a patient of Mandy's with the Ealing IAPT service. She listened so well to my problems - she definitely understands how important self-expression and communication is in dealing with problems. She also provided me with invaluable techniques for dealing with my depression and low self-esteem by encouraging me to write and practise a thought record, explaining the difference between thoughts and emotions, making me realise I'm not responsible for the abuse of others and teaching me self-forgiveness and acceptance.
She helped me to better understand my thoughts and to recognise when I'm falling into negative thoughts patterns and to deal with through breathing techniques, writing a thought record and just changing my thoughts. She is intelligent, caring and an excellent listener. I really think many staff who work for the NHS are underpaid and the government should do far more about this. To this end, she deserves a raise. She contributes so greatly to people's lives.
