"Rude receptionist, they represent your hospital."

About: Sandwell General Hospital / Gynaecology

I called about a concern regarding my moms appointment. Receptionist was absolutely rude, didn’t care to listen, tried their best to put me at fault without trying to understand the situation, then when they finally had the decency and knowledge to answer my question, after realising they were wrong, cut the phone on me, (which is ironic as their job was to answer the phone). Overall embarrassing and degrading experience here, no one try’s or cares to listen and understand the patients needs and questions. Personally, It’s put me in a mindset where I’d rather let my health deteriorate than get myself checked or referred in any department in this hospital, hopefully one day in the future these issues will be resolved, but until then this behaviour from staff is frequent.

I am sorry that the receptionist was rude and that you felt embarrassed and degraded when calling our Trust. This is not the sort of behaviour that we expect from our staff and I will ensure that your feedback is passed onto the manager of gynaecology so that it does not happen again.
