"hospital has systems in place to mislead over..."

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

The hospital operates a waiting list to get onto the waiting lists.

Staff told to mislead patients by saying that this is to reduce patients who do not attend, when escalated to manager the story changes. This is in two departments so has to be a policy decision by the Trust.

Further example of similar behaviour is when taking our daughter to A&E the staff refuse to take any details until the patient is seen by triage, daughter arrived by ambulance for breathing problem and waited with other patients.

Triage nurse had not been told about condition and details only taken by triage nurse and told that this is new policy so that 4 hour target time only begins when triage nurse takes details.

Daughter ended up having an overnight stay due to condition.

Not only is this policy dishonest it could put patients at risk.
