"My mum's care by NHS Scotland"

About: General practices in Lothian Mackinnon Memorial Hospital Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France Western General Hospital (Edinburgh)

(as a relative),

My mum had repeated admissions to hospital, visits from the local GPs and out of hours GP service, and community nurses over a spell of over 2 years before she died. I can't praise the NHS enough. Not only did she get prompt attention on every occasion, she was always treated with respect, and given time by the professionals who dealt with her. I was also amazed at how joined up the service was - any changes in her medical condition were quickly shared with the relevant professionals. There were also many times when different individuals went beyond the basic essentials of their role.

Dear Paula G

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences regarding your mum's care over the 2 years before she died, please accept my condolences for your loss.

I was really pleased to read that you found your mum's care to be joined up across all the different people who were involved in looking after your mum. I was also pleased to read how all the different staff cared for your mum with dignity and respect especially those that went beyond their essential elements of their roles.

I have shared your feedback with senior staff and I am sure that they will be pleased to read of your lovely feedback regarding your mum's care.

Once again, please pass on my condolences to you and your family at this time and thank you again for this lovely feedback.

Kind regards

Dear Paul G

I am so very sorry to hear about your mum. That must have been a tough couple of years but good to know the NHS was there for you and your mum. I hope that gave family and friends some comfort.
