I have never written a review before, other than this same review posted on Google, but feel that this is important.
I went late in the afternoon as a walk-in (hop-in?) patient with a toe injury that had become nastily sceptic and was heading far beyond extremely painful.
I was seen immediately and received friendly, kind, efficient and effective surgical treatment to both deal with the pain and resolve the underlying problem.
Very reminiscent of the best of the old cottage hospitals of my youth in that, perhaps as important as the medical aspects, I was treated with kindness as an intelligent individual, not as yet another faceless 'case', which is sometimes the impression one gets at larger, busier, hospitals. I understand the pressures on the staff of the larger institutions and do not intend that last statement as direct criticism, the overall surroundings somehow promote that feeling.
I'd thought that this tier of the NHS was a thing of the past, I was wrong.
I now believe that it is important to support these smaller local facilities - Use it or Lose it is, I suspect, the name of the game come funding review time.
To the staff involved: You have my absolute gratitude and respect for making an unpleasant situation far more bearable than it might otherwise have been. Thank you so very much.
"Excellent!"
