Visited COCH 25 November A&E, the staff member on Reception immediately taken me to seek urgent medical attention without having to wait
Both the Consultant and Nurse very attentive and treated me within minutes both very thorough. I was given IV drugs straight away as bloods confirmed raised inflammation markers. I can't thank them enough for acting so promptly. Best A&E service so far. I was treated for pneumonia as X-Ray confirmed shadowing , had highly increased BP and significantly low temperature therefore was transferred to ward 46, again incredibly great. Nothing was too much trouble for one staff member who gave me IV medication when I requested it never had to wait for it and always checked that myself and other patients OK. This staff member certainly puts patients first .
Lastly, disappointed of the content of discharge summary provided by F2. No mention of pneumonia , raised markers in blood. I was admitted as due to mews score. A copy of the discharge summary will be made available to both my GP and
Oncologist as they need accurate information to make decisions regarding treatment plan.
Can't believe the diagnosis was omitted. I did have dehydration this was secondary to chemotherapy but was not the reason I presented in A&E. I noted incorrect admission dates on the discharge summary plus medication has not been fully listed. The importantance of quality discharge summaries is key to patient care.
"Positive feedback although reflection needed"
