Attended for colonoscopy on 28.11.17.
Extremely nervous and was thinking of not attending due to my fear of the procedure. My message to anyone who may be fearful is PLEASE ATTEND. In my experience taking the pre prep the day before is worse.
When I arrived the staff were so friendly, helpful and really understood how frightening this procedure can be for some peple. The staff did their utmost to reassure me and from the moment i walked into reception until i left it was obvious all individuals in this department all worked together, for the best interest for the patient.
I was never left alone, always someone with me. Most importantly, for me, I knew who I talking to, who was doing the procedure, what will happen as the staff introduced themselves and their role. I was also pleased/relieved it was same sex wards.
This department is highly recommended. I would be very happy for a close member of my family to have this procedure done with the same staff that did mine.
(Thank you.)
