In October of this year I went away for the weekend to Blackpool with my mum. My mum was admitted to the A&E via ambulance after suffering breathing difficulties. She was taken straight from the ambulance and through to resus, after being in resus for a few hours she was taken up to the ICU. The doctors and nurses who attended to my mum in A&E, in ICU, the CCU and then on ward 38 were attentive, compassionate and more than understanding of the situation I was faced with, being alone and travelling from Bolton.
My mum came into hospital very suddenly unwell, the support from the staff to myself was absolutely remarkable and made the terrifying experience I had that little bit more bearable. To all the staff it was another working day, but you saved my mums life that saturday night and for that I will always be eternally grateful. A special thank you to the ITU consultant who came down to A&E to speak to me about the unit, what would happen with my mum - and for checking on her before you finished your night shift.
To all the staff at the BVP, thank you from the bottom of my heart. X
