"Lack of communication at RLBUHT Dental"

About: Royal Liverpool University Dental Hospital

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I arrived at my appointment 20 minutes early & was the first to arrive for the day / sign in at reception. Forty Minutes after the appointment time, I went to the desk to check I hadn't been forgotten. The receptionist asked me to take a seat again & went off to check. The receptionist did not come back to inform me of what had happened so I waited another 15 minutes until I was called in by a dentist.

Unfortunately there had been a mix up with appointments as my letter said it was today at 9am but the appointment was for tomorrow. The dentist was able to see me very briefly still but a further appointment would need to be sent out. There was no apology provided at any stage.

It sounds quite insignificant but I felt that as I had been waiting an hour and 20 minutes at this point, it would have been good for it to be acknowledged. Luckily my work were also able to give me some flexibility.  I still haven't heard from the dental hospital nearly 4 weeks later so I will need to chase this up.
