"A & E Department"

About: Friarage Hospital Site / Accident and emergency

I, with my wife attended the A & E department today as we were unsure where we could go for treatment being residents from Australia. Our wait was less that 10 minutes at about 1.30 pm and we were interviewed by a trainee doctor and then later on by a Mental Health nurse and their trainee.

To say that we received good response from everyone would be an understatement. Never have either of us experienced such thorough and thoughtful investigation by any hospital in Australia.

A visit to the local doctors surgery has been arranged and all of the nurses findings forwarded onto the doctor.

I thank the Hospital staff for their understanding and would like to make a donation to a ward of most need, maybe the children's ward.

Good afternoon

Thank you for leaving comments on the NHS Choices Website for the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I am pleased to learn that you and your wife had such a positive experience in the Accident and Emergency Department at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton recently.

Please be aware that senior staff in this area will be made aware of your compliment and it will be disseminated within the department.

It is very kind of you to consider sending a donation to the Trust.

Staff in the Charities Hub explain the process is to make a cheque payable to South Tees Hospitals Charity and on the back of the cheque put the name of the ward or department you would like the money to go to.

The address is as follows:-

South Tees Hospitals Charity, The James Cook University Hospital, Charity Hub, Central Mall, Marton Road, Middlesbrough TS4 3BW.

Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01642 854807 if you need any further help or advice.

The PALS service is available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm excluding bank holidays.

When PALS officers are dealing with other enquirers, you may reach the voicemail.

Under these circumstances, please leave a message with your name and contact telephone number and an indication on the most convenient time to ring you back.

Thank you

Kind regards

Margaret Robinson
