About: Medlock Vale Medical Practice

The GPs are excellent. They are knowledgeable and proactive in their treatment. I feel respected and am included in all decisions regarding my treatment. I feel they listen and are empathetic taking on board my views and needs in a safe and supportive environment. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get through via the telephone and find if I want an appointment I have to go to the surgery for 8am. There is always a queue! When you are I'll and the weather bad, this is the last thing you should be doing. All clinical staff are very helpful and friendly as well as most of the administration staff. On occasion i have had repeat medications requests rejected. I feel the surgery needs to devise a more sympathetic approach to repeat prescription requests rather than just looking at when items were last ordered . I also find on occasion they are slow to respond to hospital clinic letters re changes in medication. Overall Though I am happy with the level of care I receive at medlock vale.

The Practice as a whole has been working very closely with all our teams to improve all aspects of patient experience. If you wish to discuss any of the issues you have raised please feel free to speak with either Jayne our Practice Manager or Sue our Admin Manager.

We completely agree that the last thing patients want to be doing is queueing at the door when they feel unwell, and we are working on making the telephone system more accessible in a morning. Did you know you can now book appointments on-line and also order your repeat medication on-line. For more information please ask at reception about registering for online services.
