"Childrens ward"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

My nephew has a lipin 1 deficiency. His mum has taken him hospital several times in the past few months because the child can hardly walk and is always in pain. With the access card she gets to go to ward , The docs just take his bloods to check his ck levels and even if they are higher then expected she is told to take him home and give him polycal and that is after 9 hours of waiting for blood results. Today she called hospital up again because its been a few weeks hes complaing his pains are getting worse he finds it hard to breath at night, hes been limping for the past week and has back pain and no apetite and is begging to be sat on a wheel chair She rung hospital and told them she is worried about him. They didnt seem very caring. She lost one son at the age of two in this hospital as they couldnt work out what was wrong with him and this son also had the same condition but was luckily transferred to leeds.

Now shes seriously worried about him. Shes waiting for his scan which is on monday but the child is getting worse day by day and he needs to be seen. I have told her to get him checked from a different hospital but she feels they wont do nothing as he is under consultant care. She has tried to call consultant assistant left message few days ago and today but mo reply.

Hello, we are very concerned to hear about your experience, and our main concern at this point is to make sure your nephew has been seen and assessed and treated if necessary. Please can you ask his mum to contact the Care Coordinator for the children's service on 01274 382311, or the Matron on 01274 383717 . They, and a consultant on call, are aware of the situation and will be expecting to hear from them. We can then also investigate the full situation and do anything needed to make sure she is able to access advice or care when needed in the future.

We realise how distressing this must be and want to do all we can to help and to put it right.

If you would like to contact me my number is 01274 383863.
