I have put on seaview ward several times. Each and every time I have been treated with respect and dignity. When I felt upset and unable to communicate they were able to help me communicate my feelings. They are a very efficient and hardworking team. I’m the last three years I have been a revolving door patient because I felt no body could be bothered to listen to what I had to say. Seaview listened to my views and what I would like from each admission. The team communicate with patients like we are still a person. I’ve been in a lot of hospitals and this ward never fails to amaze me. They kept me safe at times I couldn’t but also encouraged me to get the help I need and so badly wanted. The consultant psychiatrist on seaview, takes a lot of time helping you, and finding out what’s going on in our sometimes very complex cases. Recovery is always hard and can feel like your climbing a mountain with no summit, but seaview made me feel worthy and that actually yes I do have a future, and they were like this every time I have been on this ward. I cannot express enough gratitude to the staff on this ward. I will never be able to thank them enough for being the ones to finally listen to me after 3 years in and out of an inpatient admission. Although seaview is a short stay assessment ward, they still try their hardest to make sure a patient is comfortable. I have numerous staff I could especially commend, but I’m unsure if I’m allowed to name the publicly here. But I’m pretty sure they know who they are. So Thankyou seaview. I’m not sure how many times you have saved my life but to me even once is enough to know that someone cared. Thankyou all of you seaview staff!!!
