Hinchingbrooke Hospital seem to suffer from a total lack of co-operation and communication between departments leading to unnecessary delays and excessive waiting times. There is very little prior-preparation by the Consultants and therefore a lot of information and results analysis is done on the spot. This cannot possibly produce the best outcomes for the patients. Even the most experienced and qualified medical expert needs time to read and digest information before making a considered response.
There also seems to be more interest in glossy presentation than substance, For example ensuring the porters are dressed in waistcoats as if this was a hotel rather than a working hospital. Perhaps this is for the benefit of the private patients.
It is recognised that medical staff should be bare below the elbow for infection control but are permitted to walk around the hospital, into various different departments and even to sit in one of the two Costa Coffee shops within the complex in full uniform. Worse still doctors arrive and leave in the same close they wear while treating patients.
"Hurry up and wait."
