About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

i went to a&e on monday at 4.00 because i have pluracy for the past 4 weeks . i was seen at 4.15pm for assessment and told to wait in the waiting room there will be a little wait as the have no spare cubicles.

time was ticking other people being seen going straight through and not coming back . by 7oclock i went to the desk as i was getting fed up of waiting as the automatic doors was left open costantly . with was starting my cough of due to the cold setting in and the heating in the waiting room seemed on low when i touched it. i was told to wait a little longer as still waiting for a cubicle. still waiting at 8.00 pm i decided to tell them i am going home and cancel being seen as been waiting to long . the receptionist told me she will see what is going on. she came back and told to wait as i am next. so i decided to wait . the a & e was empty by now as everyone told go to badger centre . by 8.30 still not called in it started filling up again . 9.00 pm came and somebody else was called in . so i decided just to go home. the prob was i was not told more regularly that there was no cubicles but other people still being seen. also 5hours waiting in the waiting room i thought was a joke . i do intend complaining to the hospital
