I'm a 23 year old female who went through a renal colic/kidney stone last year (a young age for that to happen). Since then, I've had two urine infections for the first time in my life.
I went to a GP in this surgery because another doctor told me I should get some scan or ultrasound done just to know how my kidneys are doing and if there are any more stones growing. This GP decided that it's not necessary to get any tests done because it was probably an "spontaneous episode of adulthood". I tried to insist a little bit because I'm scared that it happens again; it's better to be safe than sorry and it's better to know now if I have any more stones.
Still, they're completely sure that it's not necessary that I get any tests done if right now I'm not showing any more symptoms.
Also, the reception staff were really rude. It was my first time going to a GP appointment in the UK and I asked for help. I was just told "just go to that screen". I didn't know where exactly I had to go or what room was the appointment at, as it was my first time there. No consideration or help at all. I'll be registering at another surgery as soon as I can.
