Following the removal of a brain tumor in November 2015 I was referred to the hospital by GP where my first session was in May 2016.
At this meeting brain injury recovery was mentioned and an action plan was put into place .
I saw an occupational therapist and a senior pyscholoist to help me recognise that life with an Acquired Brain Injury is not the same as before .
Using different stratejories and techniques whilst understanding my injury helps me adjust to a different life .
The staff are superb showing the right balance of empathy , straight talking and tough love approach.
Language was always clear, concise without too much medical knowledge .
Medical reports where always produced on time for me, appointments were made in advance , the odd cancellation was telephoned too me with as much warning as was possibile .
After 18 months of treatments my rehab is coming to an end, which is both sad and refreshing as these guys have seen me at my most fragile and at the best.
I leave here feeling stronger in my approach to life with a brain injury and the words “ thank you” really do not do justice to the staff but thank you to all.
You really have helped my life .
"Thank you"
