Following an ORIF to my elbow I spent one night on ward 1. Sister Anne had collected me from recovery and i noticed that she collected other patients that evening. The standard of care that I received from everyone on the ward was exemplary, from the tea lady to Sister. During the night I was in considerable pain and had a low BP and pyrexia. HCA Tina nursed me with enormous professionalism and kindness. I could not have asked for better. The next day I was cared for by a young Italian HCA, whose name i am sorry I cant remember. She too nursed me professionally, helped me to wash, which made me feel a lot better. Everyone, including the medical staff were professional and caring.
My operation had been cancelled three times due to a bed crisis. All the staff involved during that frustrating time were polite, informative and professional. I should like to thank Elaine, Trauma Co-ordinator especially.
