I’m relieved that I’ve been at home today. I had to go to A & E at our beloved Grantham Hospital on Monday 6th November as I had something stuck in my gullet from Sunday teatime and I could neither eat or drink or take my pills. The care I got in A&E, Ambulatory Ward and EAU was excellent, they couldn’t have been nicer. The nurses were run off their feet and all short staffed. I asked one “what’s happened to all these new nurses ULHT claim to have” and they said they hadn’t seen any! I had to have a gastroscopy which took about an hour and a quarter to do, but great thanks to one particular doctor who persevered against the odds and managed to remove it. And my eternal thanks to the nurses who helped me through it. You all deserve medals for managing to keep cheerful in very trying times. Thank you all. I am now recovering from the trauma and have my follow-up appointment for Endoscopy department
