"Cesearean after care maternity unit"

About: Leicester General Hospital / Maternity

Nurses don’t give there 100% to patience who have had a c-section, soon as I was taken out of the bed they expected me to do everything. My baby would cry and I would be in pain and ring the bell and when the nurse comes I’d ask to pass the baby and would give me him and walk off. The hospital promotes breast is best but there’s no help or support and when I struggled they say give a bottle for the time being. I even had the buzzer moved as they said I shouldn’t keep ringing for help with feeds. It’s for emergency. I cried in that room at night and no one to see to me.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and congratulations on the birth of your baby.

We're really sorry to hear about your poor experience in the Maternity Unit at the General Hospital. It's really upsetting to hear and we would like to investigate further. If you are happy to do so, please email our Ward Manager, Marisa Asbury on: marisa.asbury@uhl-tr.nhs.uk, with your name, address, date of birth and hospital number (if known) and the dates you were in hospital, and she'll be able to investigate this further.

Kind regards
