"I feel cared for by my nursing team"

About: Rampton Hospital / National High Secure Healthcare Service for Women

(as a service user),

Topaz ward

1) I have only been here a little while, so I only feel sort of involved in my care planning

2) I feel cared for by my nursing team, when I have been upset, they have been there for me.

3) Just knowing that the staff are there for me.

4) Activities on the wards, creative (anything) making cards, writing poems/songs

5) OK, but there could be more.

I went to the 10th birthday party but didn't stay for too long as it was a bit busy. But what I did see I thought was good.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your care availability of activities and 10th anniversary of the National High Secure Mental Health Services for Women..

Please do not be disheartened about only being partly involved in planning. You have recently been admitted onto an admission ward. Therefore it is understandable that you are taking time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with your clinical team including your named nurse and the rest of the nursing ream. I am pleased to hear from you that you feel care for by the nurses and that when you are upset they have been there for you. in addition you said that just knowing the staff are there for you makes you feel that at all times they are there to offer safe and compassionate care.

I am delighted to hear that you are enjoying the activities offered and that you are actively participating in making cards and writing poems and songs. As you are probably aware that the hospital has recently reviewed the activity programmes so that each patient has a weekly meaningful activities programme. Please be actively involved in the reviewing and planning of the activities so that they remain relevant and engaging for you and other patients. You can do this by contacting your named nurse, your ward manager and/or any member of your clinical team

Thanks for participating in the 10th anniversary celebrations of the National High Secure Mental Health Services. Patients, staff and visitors all reported how they enjoyed interacting, dancing, singing and learning in a fun way about activities and therapies on offer. I hope you will be able to still a little longer at the next event which focuses on Christmas celebrations

Thank you

Annett
