Please accept this email as a thank you from my family for the work you have done so far with my family member who is a lung cancer patient at Barts.
I am however disappointed in the service, my family member is in and out of hospital in recovery from a lung cancer operation. The op went well yet a small 30mm tumor is still remaining in and around some lymph nodes but at the moment my family member is struggling to recover quickly enough to take chemotherapy due to medical complications.
Complications since the operation include both legs which are retaining water which we were told is cellulitis plus a catheter wasn't fitted until after the operation so both of those things are preventing the possibility of excelling with the necessary lung physiotherapy, thus slowing down the process of being fit enough for chemo.
I spoke with my family member last night from Australia and it is clear that it is very difficult to get any straight answers from anyone in hospital at the moment, I can fully understand the frustrations in not getting the care needed on the NHS.
Please understand that I am aware how hard everyone works at the NHS, I would just appreciate any advice on how to get the service that my family member desperately needs.
