What could be improved
I am disgusted that on Friday 7th January 2011, my daughter and partner attended A&E at UHND as she was experiencing severe stomach cramps and bleeding, and had only recently found out she was pregnant. She arrived at A&E on 9.15pm, and eventually was told at 4.15am on Saturday 8th January that she "had most likely lost the pregnancy" and to come on Monday - today - 10th January for a scan to check that "all products had been expelled". She has today attended for the scan, had to go to Maternity, was asked by a nurse re date of last menstrual period and "how many weeks are you now then".
I am angry that A&E took over 7 hours to be told she had lost her baby, and then to add insult to injury that she had to attend the Maternity Dept, where she sat amongst pregnant mothers. I think your policies in this direction need to be addressed.AggressiveOpening hoursMaternity
