"I was made to feel like a person and not..."

About: Kent & Sussex Hospital

What I liked

On entering A&E I was first struck being the professionalism and urgency of the staff. The department was being run by a gentleman managing a team of 150. Myself I can appreciate the difficulties in keeping a team focused and dedicated under prolonged periods of stress. This man coped superbly and as I waited I could observe the respect he gained from his motivated team members. I was then moved onto the DSU ward where I found the level of care and attention fantastic, from the ward sister, nurses, cleaning staff and not forgetting the tea man. My condition involved balloons being inserted into both nostrils, not a pleasant experience but I was made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. I would also like to thank the two doctors who helped with my final procedure, where there was even time for a little banter between us. I am 50 years old and the last time I was admitted to hospital I was 8, so I am no expert on what is a good or bad hospital. What I can say with all the bad things I have heard about the NHS, my experience was the complete opposite. Keep up the good work and thank you for kindness throughout my stay with you.StressAttentiveCleanlinessDedicatedPatient careProfessionalismReceptionWardDoctorsNursing staff
