We have just registered with this practice having recently moved into the area.
Our experiences so far have been faultless.
I researched the available GP practices in the area and narrowed it down to 2 possibilities. I visited both surgeries to collect a registration pack. I was put off the first surgery I visited by the nightmare of a car park and the attitude of the receptionist.
I arrived at Pilch Lane Surgery and parking was straightforward. I went to reception to collect a registration pack. The receptionist politely asked me what my new postcode was in order to verify that I was in the catchment area for the practice. They gave me the registration packs and explained how the process worked. They were professional yet friendly. When I was leaving the surgery I cheekily asked a man who was walking into the surgery building if he'd recommend the practice or not. He was very positive and said it was excellent. A lady who was also going into the building joined in the conversation and was very complimentary about the practice too.
I took the packs home and completed the necessary details. I returned a few days later with my partner. We handed over the completed paperwork and ID documents. The receptionist was friendly, helpful, welcoming and humorous. We were both given appointments to see the Practice Nurse and details of the flu vaccination drop in sessions.
My partner had his appointment with the nurse yesterday and had his flu jab at the same time. He felt the nurse was very thorough and professional and put him at ease. He was really positive about the experience.
I've just returned home from my appointment with the nurse, who is absolutely brilliant. They were thorough, professional, friendly and informative.
The surgery isn't housed in the most modern or attractive building but it doesn't matter, it's the people that make the practice what it is. All the staff I have come into contact with so far have been excellent. I'm hoping not to have to experience the services of the practice too often but I'm hoping that any experiences will continue to be as positive as what I have experience so far.
"So far so good."
