"Absolutely dreadful"

My mother in law is currently in hospital at the age of 91, the care she is receiving is nothing short of horrendous. She came in via the emergency department and was then transferred to a ward. Nobody is reading the notes and they want to discharge her even though she is in incredible pain and cannot walk unassisted. We have just phoned to see if she has had a CT scan and been informed that she is not on the ward, so they assume that is where she is! We then asked if she had seen a dietician to then be told I don't know!!

I have to mention that the frailty department however have been excellent and if I hadn't spoken to a member of staff today I would be inconsolable.

This is a lady who has stayed in her own home for 91 years, we have looked after her for the last few years, the least she can expect is some dignity and we expect some concern and compassion.

My mother in law unfortunately had to visit the hospital 6 weeks ago and I again had to complain that she had been left for 15 minutes after asking for help to go to the toilet - this I had to sort out myself, as they could not have cared less.

You need to take a look at the Patient Promise you have on the walls, because you are most definitely lacking.
