"Heart problem sorted quickly"

About: The Highwood Surgery

Having an erratic heart beat I was worried in Feb 2017 when I got out of breath, unusual for me. I got an appointment straight away, had a heart monitor fitted and a referral to a specialist after that. It was found that I don't have AF, just rather a lot of ventricular and supraventricular ectopic beats. The excellent treatment I got from this GP on this occasion is typical of other problems over the past 17 years with this surgery. I have moved about the UK a fair bit - I am 79 years old - and have usually had good service from GPs. However this surgery has only been equalled by the brilliant doctor who brought me into this world and treated me for my first 20 years.

The practice doctor treated me for the first ten years or so, but after that I have been very happy seeing the doctor who I believe is a locum.

The receptionist/practice manager has always been very helpful and informative. Very occasionally it can be difficult to get through on the phone, but normally it is easy.
