I was admitted to AMU on thursday evening with heavy internal bleeding after my doctors felt concerned.
The admittance was stress free and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful doing their best to ease my concerns. A doctor saw me quickly and by 01am friday morning I was moved to Conservators ward as the AMU bed was needed. That said it was professional and I was kept informed. The new ward was pleasant, the staff cared for me putting my mind at ease and treating me with dignity and respect, I am a large person and need an electric wheelchair for my main mobility, so my needs were demanding regarding toileting etc
for staff who were willing and friendly doing all they could to help me and ensure my visit was truly as stress free as could be, and ensuring I received the care I needed. I was given an OGD and Maria my nurse stayed with me doing her best to reduce stress and I was pleased the results were normal, however I will be having a colonoscopy soon as the bleeding never stopped until Sunday morning.
My one concern was the rooms were uncomfortably hot,
