"Receptionists don’t give a hoot."

About: Medlock Vale Medical Practice

My mum went to the practice almost 3 weeks ago with a lump in her breast. She asked the receptionist for an appointment and was told there was no access to upcoming appointments. She then told the receptionist she had found a lump in her right breast and the reply from the receptionist was “oh you’ll have to wait 2 weeks for an appointment”

I’m absolutely disgusted by this!!! If I’d have known sooner from my mum I’d have been to the practice demanding immediate treatment!!!

When my mum eventually got to see the doctor, who was very supportive, the doctor was annoyed at my mum for not getting it checked out sooner. My mum explained that she told the receptionist of the lump and they made her wait.

This is by far the worst doctors surgery to deal with ever! The receptionists are absolutely awful. Not a compassionate bone in any of their bodies and they clearly need training on how to deal with someone who thinks they have a cancerous lump.

No wonder the surgery has such terrible reviews. Getting to see a doctor is like trying to cross Trumps border wall... impossible!!!

This is not how your gp surgery should be! This is a disgraceful way to treat my mum and I expect serious attention to this matter. Or I will take this further
