After a 111 call on Sat 11th November with severe right hand side adomonal pain I was sent to A and E. On arrival they said it would be an 8 hour wait but that there was a doctor on duty who maybe able to help. Within 10 mins I was seen by a lovely doctor who realised that I might have appendix problem. Transport was organised and I was admitted to a bed on BEECHES ward. Staff made me welcome and after a doctors round was set up with a drip and painkillers. I was wheeled twice down the corridor by friendly porters for X Ray's and ct scan. Consultant. Visited after the X Ray to say it looked like appendix ,which was confirmed after ct scan. Theatre staff appeared and explain procedure and by 6 I was down in theatre. Back to ward at 9, where I was constantly monitored. On sun morning visited by consultant to inform me how it went and that I should be able to leave Monday.
All the staff on the ward worked hard giving care to each patient, turning beds around and making sure we were all fed and watered. I could not have been given better care.
"Excellent service"
