About: North Middlesex Hospital / Maternity care

I am shocked and disgusted at this hospital I lost 2 baby’s and now found out I’m pregnant so I went here for my booking I wanted to be seen in hospital (booking) by a midwife as my concern of miscarriage and anixety of losing another baby is very stressful both the Ante Natal booking team refused me an appointment and said to be seen by community Center which I did not feel comfortable due to the circumstances I felt safer in hospital i then spoke to the head senior midwife and they also refused me an appointment at the hospital I am utterly disgusted and shocked, I have now made my booking at the Whittington hospital where Iv had my other 2 children they gave me an appointment the same day for 2 weeks for midwife and scan so I’m very happy now but utterly disgusted at the north Middlesex maternity unit

Dear anonymous

I am very sorry you were not happy to be seen in a community clinic, our midwives work in both the hospital and the community and care for patients in the same way in both.

Following your initial booking appointment, it would then have been decided whether your antenatal care needed to be managed by a consultant in the hospital.

I hope all goes well for you in the pregnancy.

Dr Justin Daniels,

Divisional Director for Women, Children and Clinical Support Services.
