"Treating the person not the condition"

About: Greenwood Surgery

This GP has been a fantastic advocate for end of life and patient centred care.

They have been my Father-in-Laws GP for many years and recently had to provide a service no one ever wants to be 'offered'.

This GP worked on the theory they weren't happy with the patients lack of improvement and sent my Father-in-Law to Broomfield for further tests via the A&E referral route.

Shortly after being admitted he was diagnosed with Cancer; this GP made themselves available at many times outside of normal working hours and ensured that pain management was at the forefront of his care plan.

They were frank and honest during their visits and even stepped in where they felt the hospital wasn't meeting the needs of their patient.

The duration of the illness was a matter of about 6 weeks from being sent to A&E.

This GP made several visits during this time and also made a point of calling my Mother-in-Law to make sure she was ok too.

The whole care offered during this extremely horrendous time was without doubt above and beyond what anyone could expect from their GP in this day and age.

This GP is willing to put the hours in to care for their patients and I would say this shows them to be someone worth their weight in gold.

On behalf of all of family we would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the help during Dave's Illness and the care offered to his wife since be passed.
