"Wasn't expecting that."

My wife was referred to the adult mental health team at Townend Court several months ago with a diagnosis of FTD (front temporal dementia) by HRI Neurology with no hope of recovery.

They (Townend Court) gave my wife an occupational therapist, a support worker, a CPN and a locum psychiatrist. It would have been so easy for them to simply "go with the flow" but they (along with my suspicions) doubted this diagnosis and the team requested a third set of brain scans (PET) which completely reversed this diagnosis.

In short due to their independent thinking they took the death sentence away and replaced it with real hope for the future, that took guts on their part and I am truly grateful to the team, If anyone out there is lucky enough to be able to have these people care for them they have hit the jackpot!

The only down side is that if my wife has been treated for FTD which she didn't have are they going to send me a bill?

I really don't want to spend the rest of my life hiding in a Bolivian Jungle.

Well done and thank you to the team

Regards

Rob.
