I've had input from a&e, ward 2 and ward 15 over last few days. I work part time for PHSO and read a lot about awful experiences of patients in hospital so it's been fantastic to experience such excellent care in airedale. Have been so impressed by professionalism of all types and grades of staff. Always a prompt response. Everyone polite, listening and very caring. My anxious family were welcomed on the ward at all hours. Impressed by the joined up electronic record keeping and the obvious speedy clear communication between departments. I also want to note that i'm very deaf, although relatively young. It can be very frustrating when people respond to that either with irritation or by assuming I'm also stupid and talking to me as if I am. Not a single person I came into contact with at the hospital did either of those. Everyone just made sure they were facing me and spoke as clearly as possible. I was able to discuss my symptoms etc fully and at length with the staff and I'm very grateful for that.
I've had quite a frightening few days and am glad to be home and hopefully recovering. But it was all made much more bearable by the quality of services and especially of the staff.
You should be very proud. Thank you.
"A very positive experience"
