"Great emergency care for grandparents"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

Both of my grandparents have required assessment and treatment in the Emergency Department and Integrated Assessment Unit in the last couple of months - my grandmother after collapsing in the outpatients department and my grandfather after collapsing at home- as they're both usually fit and well these incidents were concerning! They were both seen promptly in the ED and admitted to IAU for further assessment within a couple of hours. They both felt they were treated well and I certainly can't fault the care they received. They have both now recovered but the follow-up care they received means that as a family we can be confident that these incidents were isolated and not a symptoms of anything more sinister. Many thanks to all of the staff involved in their care.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback and I am really pleased to hear that your grandparents are doing well. It must have been very worrying for you and your family to have them both needing treatment so close together. I am really pleased to hear that they felt they were treated well, but most importantly that they have recovered and are in much better health. Best wishes to you all.
