I was admitted to A & E on a Tuesday morning with severe abdominal pains, vomiting etc.
It's a condition I've had before, which comes on with amazing rapidity, and as I was at work when taken ill, I ended up at the RVI, not a hospital I've ever been to as a patient before.
I was checked in immediately and had an initial assessment and bloods taken within twenty minutes of arrival.
I was in A & E for a total of 7 hours during which time I received treatment for my condition, had an X-Ray, a scan and intravenous fluids/pain relief.
I couldn't have been treated better or with more care or efficiency.
The staff worked together really well as a team and were all friendly, capable and informative.
I was kept aware of everything that was happening, which I think is very important.
It was clearly busy, but the overall feeling was of a very smoothly operating unit.
All of the staff involved in my treatment were lovely.
I was genuinely impressed, and grateful for the care received.
"Excellent A & E staff"
