About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Maternity

I was admitted to Stoke Mandeville on 13th October due to reduced fetal movements. From the moment we arrived at the Claydon wing triage on the 13th to giving birth on the 16th October I could not have felt more taken care of despite having quite a traumatic labour which resulted in a Category 1 emergency c-section. Every member of staff was extremely caring, helpful and so friendly at all times, even the night shift. They never made me feel like I was taking up their time despite clearly being stretched due to staff being off ill. It amazed me how calm and supportive they are able to remain in all situations as my husband and I witnessed a couple of other fast moving labours during our stay and all staff were so wonderful at handling each situation. They were so supportive towards my husband and I during our whole experience and particularly once I had been told that we needed to go to theatre, they kept me calm and informed the whole time, telling me what to expect each step of the way.

After the birth of our baby I stayed in the Rothschild ward again and just like prior to the birth, the care was incredible, if not even better. Furthermore, the support with breastfeeding was outstanding and overwhelmingly exceeded my expectations.

Well done Stoke Mandeville maternity on providing such an incredible level of care.
