"CQC visit"

About: Arnold Lodge Regional Secure Unit Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

It was really good to see the people from the CQC the other day.

I was able to speak with one of the visitors in private in the side room, I liked that I could talk honestly and was very happy to tell them everything was very good on the ward.

I told them about advocacy, staff, medication activities on the ward like bingo and such like, and everything I told them was positive and honest.

The only thing I can say I feel was a little bit negative was the shortage of staff, means leave and visits are sometimes cancelled and can not go ahead but I know the managers know about this.

Thank you for this post.

It is very important that patients are able to speak to the CQC honestly and in confidence. Staff and patients are very proud of the service here at Arnold Lodge, but no matter how good it is, there is still room for improvement.

It is good to hear that everything on the ward was good and that your feedback was positive.

I acknowledge your concerns about staffing on the wards. Ward teams make great efforts to re-arange leave and visits if these have to be cancelled. We are actively recruiting new staff for the wards, and the staffing situation should improve in the coming months.
