"The sessions empowered me"

About: Inclusion Cambridgeshire

(as a service user),

1-1 session with family liaison for inclusion for support  as a Relative of Substance misuse, the session enabled me to talk about my feelings with someone who understands the situation, I was given guidance and information in a respectful way , I felt empowered that how I felt was normal and I was supported with how I planned my actions around my relative. I was encouraged to adapt behaviour when I felt I needed to. I was also able to discuss safety. This was my first session 1-1 and the information has helped me to clarify my circumstances, which will support and help me to manage my relative's impact on my emotions and everyday life.

it has clarified behaviours I did not understand and can now understand better.

I can now move forward knowing I'm doing the right thing.

Hi

That sounds like an action packed first session! You come across like someone who has really taken on board what our staff have suggested which is fantastic! We really try to understand what its like for a family member or friend and help people manage accordingly. The tough part is putting all this into practice and keeping it going. If there is anything we can do to help further please ask.

Thanks

Paul
