"Children traumatised about immunisations"

About: West Derby Medical Centre

I had an appointment prior to the summer holidays to see a nurse with my two children for immunisations prior to traveling to Hong Kong.

We had been given three back to back appointments so had plenty of time with the nurse.

The nurse was very impatient with the children who were nervous about have a needle and was telling them to stop being silly and that if they wouldn't have the needle straight away we'd have to leave and make another appointment as she had other patients waiting.

The nurse was not caring or sensitive to the fact that the children (both 10 years old) were nervous.

We were rushed and made to feel we were wasting their time despite having three appointment slots.

As a result both children are now terrified of having any further immunisations.

Despite having three appointment slots we were rushed out after only 10 minutes!!!

Hi there

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

I'm really sorry to hear you've had such a negative experience with the surgery- we always strive to deliver good quality care to our patients and it would seem that we have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please contact the surgery and ask to speak to myself and I will be glad to go through them with you.

Thank you

Richard Fowler (Reception Manager)
