"2 year old admitted by ambulance for breathing..."

About: Conquest Hospital / Accident and emergency

2yr old was admitted by ambulance for breathing difficulties and then we were told to wait in the a&e waiting area only 2 people in front so thought won’t be long 3 hours later still there only to find more people in front I appreciate it’s by medical priorities but this was a 2 yr old not an older child and found it absolutely disgusting the care we received or lack of so much so we left because my baby was fast asleep and had enough. Also the cleanliness of a&e was absolutely disgusting there was blood and vomit and rubbish on the floor everywhere no acceptable at all. Going to my own doctor as soon as they open will never go to a&e again absolutely horrified by lack of hygiene and care.

We're deeply concerned and saddened to read your posting on NHS choices about your visit to the A&E department, at the Conquest Hospital, with your 2 year old child.

As a trust, it’s always our aim to provide high quality care, so we're disappointed to hear that this was not your experience.

We would like an opportunity to speak with you so that we can apologise in person and gather more information that will help us to look into what happened in greater detail.

If you would like to do this, please contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01424 758090 or by email at esh-tr.PALSH@nhs.net.

Please be assured, we take you concerns seriously and have shared your comments with the Service Manager for A&E to act upon.

We hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
