"Fantastic service, from A& E follow up treatment"

About: Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Having collapsed at home on the morning of 8-11-17 amb. staff att my home, via 999 and transported me to Burton both were great well trained and ensured both myself and daughter we not distressed.I was taken in at about 11a.m. I was seen initially by a variety of staff, all of which did their jobs without fault, panic and most of all not distressing to either myself or my relatives Daughter & wife .I was in a cubical under examination till about 10 p.m the same evening and saw first hand an A&E unit under consent change of patients and under the professional leadership of a Sister. All manor of questions were asked of them but the Sister was just fantastic, but still had time for my own simple questions, I had so many tests done and they all came back ok but rather than kick me out they investigated even deeper as this was my second collapse and loss of consciousness.

I was moved about to various departments for tests, never left and always kept informed. One nursing ass took me about including to have my chest checked in the big polo scanner ? we were there over half an hour but still I was never left and was made to feel calm, just talking about family's holidays in Italy etc. This assistant was also great and would make a super nurse. At about 10 pm I was taken to ward 9 rm 26 settled for the night and offer further food and drinks, family left of their own accord knowing I was in safe hands.During the night I was checked very quietly ( but checked) and on the occ. I used the call button I was visited within 30 sec.

In the morning i was seen and inf of.new test etc to find a reason,These were done and resulted in my staying a further night for a 24hr heart trace, and being moved to the wards male ward, I again was dealt with by day & night staff, and could not fault my treatment, even down to the tea staff and cleaners most polite. At about 1230 am 10th I had to be moved from the ward due to an urgent arrival, but this was explained to me and I was moved to ward 3 short state, not just shifted like a lump of meal, on arrival I was settled, offered food or drink, declined.During the 10th my last day I was updated, seen by staff, Dr s and a consultant. I was updated about my results etc and what was going to happen as an out patient to try and resolve the reasoning for my second collapse. As stated every person I had contact with were polite, well manor ed and appeared good at their job. the place was clean and at no time did I or any member of my family think we were not getting a good service or of we had visited a different hospital that we could get a better service, ( we couldn't) .The day sister on arrival and the, I think nursing assistant or helper were both so good I am just sorry I forgot their name, but I was not at my best at the time, both deserve thanks, all though it is impossible to pick a member of staff out who did'nt deserve, thanks and praise
