"Lack of communication and care"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital New Stobhill Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Shocking service, I have now been in the urology service for 2/3 years and still no treatment. Complete lack of care or communication.

I have had to chase after appointments my condition has now deteriorated to such a degree I am very concerned that the damage might be irreversible, I have now  contacted private health care as I need to be treated now.

I wonder why I have paid national insurance all my life and when I need support it is not forthcoming. To make matters worse I have eventually been referred on to urology at Gartnavel but as they are in crisis (see mesh implant disaster for details) the waiting list is not far off a year.

Dear Let Down Big Time

I am most sorry for the delays experienced in obtaining appointments with the Urology service. I understand that our Lead Nurse has been in contact with you recently to apologise for the delay and to offer appointments to you. I do hope that this is satisfactory but please do get back in contact if there is anything else we can do for you.

Kind Regards

Natalie Marshall
